Ruppell’s Griffon Vultures are unfortunately on the critical endangered species list due to accidental poisoning by ivory poachers. These East African birds are the world’s highest flying birds with wing span of almost 9 feet. The highest recorded flight due to a collision with a plane was recorded at 37,000 feet!
